Cottage Transformation

This project transforms a 1950s developer home into an English Cottage–inspired residence, reflecting the owners’ desire to rethink the home’s architectural character while fitting with the styles found in this historic town and the pedestrian scale of the street it occupies. The renovation reconfigures the interior layout to provide a new kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms, along with a second-floor laundry room, while adapting the existing garage footprint to create an office/bedroom with full bath.

The existing screened porch was enclosed as conditioned living space, and the back patio was redesigned to harmonize with the English Cottage aesthetic, creating outdoor areas that complement the interior. Thoughtful attention to proportion, materials, and detailing throughout the home ensures a cohesive transformation, balancing modern functionality with historic charm and enhancing the overall street presence.
